Kit4Carers: The Story So Far

Kit4Carers was formed in March 2020 in response to the severe disruption to the global supply of personal protective equipment (PPE) that left many frontline workers dangerously ill-equipped to care for their patients following the outbreak of COVID 19.

The worldwide shortage – and subsequent price hike – was felt most acutely among those people and organisations in social care, a sector that had already been facing long-standing financial pressures, increasing workplace shortages and an undervalued workforce.

As part of our first project, we sourced, purchased and donated PPE for hospices and care agencies throughout the UK.

Since then, we have expanded our area of work through a partnership with Carers Worldwide to deliver support to carers in India by creating access to health services, employment, training, and opportunities for respite.

Our focus today is on utilising our expertise and connections to broaden the resources available to carers throughout the world as part of our Project Hubcare.

We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved to support the long-term health and wellbeing of carers, and look forward to continuing our mission to create a world in which  the needs of carers everywhere are met
